The things I learned from this overall project in English-which consists a research paper, creative writing and presentation-were numerous and contributed to my future welfare. The things I learned were beneficial for me to understand better of the world we live in. Firstly, I learned mostly about ISIS and how they manipulate young children to become child soldiers (the cub of caliphate) and persuade them to do horrendous, vile acts. This also connects with my key concept of perspective as it relates and focuses on the viewpoint/perspective of many children. Especially how they react and how they get persuaded/indoctrinated in training camps. My perspective/standpoint of this situation was also present. It was mostly about how I felt about the young innocent kids that were turned into iniquitous machines. This was evident when I took a standpoint of this situation and wrote a creative writing on what I perceived of the situation/event. Secondly, I learned how to write a creative journal based on the life of a young boy. This also increasingly connects with the key concept of perspective as I took a young boy's perspective and transformed it into a journal of the horrible events that took place in his life. Thirdly, I did a presentation on what I learned an my overall research paper. It was very informative and I conveyed my idea or perspective about the situation. This also connects to the key concepts as I reflected and shared my own perception/opinion about ISIS. This is my best sample since even though I got a few other 7's in other criteria, this criteria actually had the comments on the things I met/achieved and what I could have improved on. To improve and get a full score of 8 I should explained deeper on each point and analyze it more thoroughly even though I had a short time to convey what I was going to say. I should learn how to emphasize the main points rather than the small/minor information to wisely use the given time. I developed my understanding on the key concept (Perspective) as I dug deeper and got hundreds of different perspectives from different people of different ages on one topic (ISIS). Afterwards I analyzed and came up with my own perspective of ISIS and have written an essay and presented a presentation concerning it. Then I learned to explain and convey my perception of ISIS in an orderly and proper fashion (with sources to prove my points). My teacher's comment of explaining deeper and only the important facts were vital for me to recognize my mistakes and improve the next time I am presenting.
