Individual and Societies
The things I did and learned which were new and interesting are abundant. Some of the things I learned is about Industrial Revolution and its impacts, effects, causes, outcomes and use. I learned that the infant death rate was very high and healthy food was very scarce at that time. I could apply this in my life by appreciating what I eat, since at the Industrial Revolution, people eat the most unimaginable things like unhygienic and rotten meat, humans (sometimes they accidentally fall inside the mixing container while working in the factory and beer (even children, since water was unhygienic and contained lots of diseases). I aced this test mostly because I study hard and revise what I practiced. I take a break and don't study 1 hour before the test to keep myself relaxed and remember the things I've learned. This is my best sample work since I got a full score for this test and the way I could improve is to get the bonus questions right too so I can fully prove that I understood all the things I learned. The IB context which is related is Scientific and Technological Innovation since it is about the Industrial revolution which is a revolution is all technologies and theories. In addition the industrial revolution is a human-made advancement like the Bronze age which changed the world.
In this subject I did a project on the Industrial Revolution. The project was about a topic, which was Health in the Industrial Revolution, which narrowed down to Food and Nutrition. In this project, I completed a lot of steps (located in a worksheet). There was a total of 10 steps and a total of 3 Journals, this wasn't a very difficult thing to do, these were meant to help me complete this project. Every step lead nearer and nearer to the end of the project, these steps were vital and without this I wouldn't know which way I am heading. My product for this project was an Industrial Revolution-based porridge, which help the students and consumer feel how bland the food tasted in the Industrial revolution, because there was less and expensive spices at that time. The Industrial Revolution was both a difficult and essential revolution which impacted the world. I got a full 8/8 score because I followed each steps and completed them in precision, and I will maintain this score by studying hard and smart. Without it, we wouldn't have this sophisticated technologies and products today. The IB Global Context which applied in this subject is Globalization and sustainability. This very much implied to this subject because I explored interconnectedness of human-made systems and communities (which was the system in the Industrial Revolution period). Secondly, I understood the opportunities and tensions provided by world-interconnectedness (which was the tensions of the Industrial Revolution). Finally, I learned about the impact of decision-making on humankind and the environment (which was the decisions and the impact of the Industrial Revolution). My teacher's comment is, "student uses excellent use of terminology, research questions, analysis, etc".
