Physical and Education
The interesting things that I learned in this project is uncountable. Few of them are the causes of tobacco, its positive effect and negative effects. I learned that even though there are some positive outcomes of smoking, the amount of negatives are double or triple times more than it. Smoking tobacco causes cancer and other deadly diseases and pains. But in the other hand, there are few positives of smoking, which are relief of stress and style. People get influenced to smoking by mostly media, influence and persuasion. My group member, Wira interviewed a person who started smoking when he was in 8th grade. He was severely affected and he wasted lots of money, which he could have put in a better use. Smoking and chewing tobacco is harmful and so put out the cigarette before it puts you out. The main thing which makes a good project validity/reliability and for this we should use as much source as possible to validate our findings. This sample work is my best work since I put so much effort and got a good result for it. I could improve the score by interviewing a professional person rather than a random smoker. This relates to the Global Context, Identities and relationships since smoking tobacco is related with physical and mental health.
In this subject I learnt about the health factors which generally affects teens, physically, mentally and/or spiritually. Teens are children who enter the stage of adolescence, they are the ones who are severely damaged by the rays of influence. For them it is like a new world, new knowledge and a new exploration. All of the new things teens learn or experience should be controlled like the saying 'curiosity killed the cat', we could be destroyed by too much curiosity. The temptations we experience during teenage life is normal, it is solely up to us to give it up or give in to it. There are various aspects of temptations which lures teens, the one I chose as my topic is Video Games. It is the most common and viral infection that got into us. Nowadays, not only teens get affected by it, but children, parents and even elderly people give into it. The game I chose, which is the most viral is Clash of Clans. This game alone has over 2 million users worldwide at any age groups. In my essay I talked about this and how it also affected me personally. I got this score not only for my written essay, but also for the communication of this essay (or verbal assessment). I got an 8/8 because I used intonation and I wrote this essay with accurate information from research and multiple double checks. This subject/work fits under the IB Context Globalization and Sustainability. Firstly, I explored the interconnectedness of human-made systems and communities (which was how human-made system (games) affect the communities (people) tremendously). Secondly, I learned how local experiences mediate the global (which is how local games and addiction can widespread into a global tragedy). Finally, I learned the impact of decision-making on humankind and the environment (which is how the decision to get tempted can affect one's life tremendously). My teacher's comment is, "The essay is informative along with deep".
