The things I learned while and after making this Lab Report are numerous. While I made the Lab Report, I referred back to my early lab reports I made (Grade 7 and 8), since I don't want to repeat the same mistakes. I learned that I should explain each paragraph/sentence in detail, everything I say has to be meaningful and have sense. Even simple mistakes count and contribute to the final score. Also I learned quality beats quantity. This Quarter I learned about Chromatography and atoms. we did a lot of chromatography experiments which were interactive and practical. This is my best sample work because this was the highest score I got for science along with the group lab report. It seems that in this quarter, I am better at writing lab reports than the past grades (7-8). The things I did well is make very good points/ideas in my lab report and make a good conclusion. I could improve this score by taking more time and more concentration while doing my lab report. The IB Contexts I applied is Scientific and Technical innovation. I explored more about the innovation of science, which is about atoms. In addition there are many advancements in researches, every time there is a theory other people question it and improve/correct it.Besides, Science is mostly part of Scientific and Technical innovation, since science is to explain and answer the 5 W and 1 H about basically everything.
In this subject I learned a lot about plants and propagation. In the beginning I learned about how plants reproduce and that led to this topic which is Artificial Propagation. Artificial propagation is basically growing various breeds of endangered plant or increasing their population artificially. In this research paper I discussed about two types of propagation methods out of numerous methods, which are cuttings and grafting. Both of these methods are essential and vital to preserve endangered plants and create better plants. I got a pleasing 8 out of 8 which was excellent, I hope on maintaining this score for the upcoming assignments and my future. This topic classifies under the IB Global Context Orientation in Space and Time, because I explored turning points in humankind; discoveries (which was propagation, it was a turning point for humans and the environment. Secondly, this connected with the explorations and migrations of humankind (because since the propagation methods were found, people didn't have to migrate to find foreign species of plant and fruits/vegetables). Finally, it relates with the interconnectedness of, individuals and civilizations, from personal, local and global perspectives (since because of propagation, the whole global perspective on plants changed and civilizations/nations began to unite/connect). My teacher's comment is, "Well Done". This is very encouraging and I will keep it up.
