Prototype steps
Evaluation:
Design:
I think I want to keep the design the way it is, since it is perfectly shaped and meets all the specifications and criteria, I wanted it to be. Some of the specifications I wanted my apron to look like are, firstly it should be long enough (until half the thigh length). It has to be long enough for the best performance and guarding/protecting your inside (clothes) from getting dirty (by paint, etc.) Secondly, the design is perfect since I want my design to be simple yet usable for daily purpose. The color I intend to use for the background of the apron is dark colors such as magenta, dark blue, dark green and purple.
NOTE: Most of the information on how my design will look like is in the caption.

Material:
The material I will use is hard, dark-coloured twill to sustain for a long time and won't get dirty easily. The proportion I am going to use is 110- 115 cm (length) by 61-62 cm (width) by 0.2-0.3 cm (height). I give every dimension an additional space of 2-5 cm so if I miss a cm or I did some minor mistakes, I could fix it. I think I will use extra materials such as buttons to make it more fancy and prettier to wear. I will also use different color thread and some laces to make it colorful and attractive.
Equipment :
The equipment I am going to use for designing/making the apron is scissors (especially the strong one which can cut through quill easily) for cutting the quill, camera for recording/show how I do it in pictures and to later post it, ruler/measuring tape for measuring and marker/chalk for plotting and the lines or placing dots.
Technique:
The steps I would like to change in my final product are, the straps and the materials. I would like to change the straps into 2 cm so it would be easier to stitch and work on. And I would like to add some materials like buttons to make it fancier. Also one of the steps I would like to change in the blog is step three. I would change the word “unused apron” into just “apron”, since people nowadays don’t keep old things in their house. Also I would like to change step four, which says “draw another border, it has to be 1 cm away from the first border” to “draw another border around the first border, which has to be 1 cm apart”. I would like to change the sentence because; the first sentence doesn’t make sense to the reader.

Pattern: The dark blue apron since with that I placed it on top of the newspaper and then I cut the border and the straps. The apron is the base structure of the newspaper apron.
Things you will need:
Materials
Equipment
Steps:
Step 1: Get a piece of newspaper, preferably one that is old (to save earth/go green!).
Step 2: Make the newspaper 110 cm by cutting and pasting two layers of the newspaper together.
Step 3: Place an unused apron on the newspaper (WARNING: place it on the left edge, and on the pivot/fold side of the newspaper).
Step 4: Draw a border of the apron on the newspaper and draw another border, it has to be 1 cm away from the first border.
Step 5: Draw 4 strips in the bottom of the newspaper 22.5 cm long and 3 cm wide (at the bottom part of the newspaper).
Step 6: Cut the border of the lines you have drawn.
Step 7: Cut the second border (1 cm away) and cut the 22.5 by 3 cm long strips.
Step 8: Fold the paper strips 3 times (left and right half and fold both halves for each).
Step 9: Open the apron you just cut out from and fold the second border of the apron.
Step 10: Glue the straps to the body of the newspaper
Last Step: Paste/glue the 4 strips (first on the top right corner, second on the top left corner, third on the left arm part of the apron and the last one on the right arm part of the arm part).
Tips n' Tricks
The main tip and trick for this assignment is to make all the lines accurate/ right measurement so it can be easy to fold and work on. Another tip is to follow the steps thoroughly and precisely since every step is important, like it says in the steps to put the apron on the left corner and the foldable part, to make it double. If you mistakenly did it the other way, it will become a disaster.
